Android Apps & Games / Action RPG The Ascent sells 1 million copies worldwide

The Ascent has reached sales of 1 million copies worldwide since the game’s launch, showcasing that the action RPG shooter has grown in popularity over the last two years. The news was shared by the game’s publisher Curve Games in a recent press release.

When The Ascent initially launched, it was available on only two platforms. PC and Xbox. It was also available through Xbox Game Pass on either one of those platforms so you didn’t necessarily have to buy it. It wasn’t until April of 2022 that The Ascent finally came to PS4 and PS5. Expanding the game’s reach and pushing the sales of the Ascent even further.

The Ascent is an action RPG and twin-stick shooter rolled into one, featuring intense combat and a delicious array of weapons with which to dispatch your enemies. I was absolutely enamored by it in my review of the base game, and urge everyone who hasn’t played it yet to give it a try.

Since the game’s launch in 2021, The Ascent has provided players with frantic combat and a riveting story that has no trouble pulling you in. Publisher Curve Games and developer Neon Giant have released a handful of content packs to augment the gameplay. Including items like new skins for transmogrification and additional weapons. It also released a follow-up expansion to the game last year with The Ascent – Cyber Heist. Which takes players to a new arcology building to face down new threats.

All-in-all, The Ascent delivers a rich and colorful world to explore across both the base game and expansion. And hopefully, reaching 1 million global sales will lead to additional game content. Because if there’s a game that certainly deserves it, it’s The Ascent.

You can pick up The Ascent on PC via Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
